Hi Stampers, It is Thursday again and that means another hop for you to see. Today we had a sketch challenge and I had Christmas on my mind again. There are so many new things in the new holiday catalog that I thought I had better makes lots of cards to showcase all the treasures I found. This sketch uses the “Wrapped in Warmth” stamp set along with the new “Holly Berry Happiness” bundle and the dies from “Swirly Birds”. It was fun using so many wonderful products. Enjoy the hop.
Here is the sketch:
Stampin Up Wrapped in Warmth:
Here is the card recipe:
Card base: Whisper White 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2
Mat: Garden Green 4 x 5-1/4
Embossed piece: Real Red 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 Embossed with the cable knit embossing folder
The Sentiment: I cut some Whisper White card stock and used the Lots of Labels Framlits to cut out the piece for the sentiment. I cut the right side off the piece after it was die cut to make it flat on the right side so it would fit along the card. Using the ink to rubber technique and my Stampin Markers in Garden Green, Real Red and Soft Suede, I colored my sentiment from the “Wrapped in Warmth” stamp set. The sentiment was adhered with dimensionals.
The Wreath: I used the Swirly Bird dies to cut two soft suede wreaths and sponged the edged with more soft suede for added dimension.
The Holly: The holly leaves were inked in Garden Green ink and the outlines were inked in Always Artichoke using the Holly Berry Happiness stamp set. They were punched out with the coordinating punch.
The Bling: I added a triple bow made from gold, garden green and real red bakers twine, I adhered it with a glue dot. Adding some gold sequins, rhinestones and Real Red Enamel shapes to decorate my festive wreath finished it off perfectly.
