Stampin Up “Sheltering Tree” Fall Card:

My inspiration came from the “Sheltering Tree” stamp set.  The fall season helped  inspire me to create another fall themed  card using the glorious shades of golden yellows and russet oranges.  It reminds me of the two sunset maples in our garden that are covering our yard in brilliant hues of the season.

Here is the card recipe:

Card base:  Very Vanilla 5-1/2 x  8-1/2   scored at 4-1/4

Mat:  Soft Suede 4 x 5-1/4

Art Piece: Very Vanilla 3-7/8 x 5-1/8

I cut a circle out of both the soft suede and very vanilla mats using the circle framelits.  The very vanilla mat was run through the wood grain embossing folder and adhered with dimentionals to the soft suede mat.

I stamped the tree with the “Sheltering Tree” stamp set on the front of the card before I glued the mats.  The inks I used for the tree were:

Tree trunk:  soft suede

Leaves: first layer was daffodil delight and then using the small leaf stamp I filled in using, hello honey, delightful dijon, pumpkin pie and  so saffron inks.

Here are the details:

I wrapped the crochet ribbon around the two mats with glue dots and then attached the mats to the card.

Leaves:  Inked using the Vintage Leaves stamp set:

Pumpkin pie  inked in pumpkin pie

Hello Honey inked in Hello Honey

Delightful Dijon inked in Delightful Dijon

Daffodil Delight sponged in Daffodil delight.

After the leaves were inked I cut them out using the Leaflets Framelits in my Big Shot. Before attaching them to the card I sponged the edges with the same color ink I used to stamp the leaves. This added just a touch more depth to the card.

More Details:

To finish off the card I tied a loop of the crochet ribbon with linen thread to complete my embellishments.

The Banner: I used Versa Mark ink and stamped my image on vellum and then used gold embossing powder to add a shimmery sentiment.  I tied the gold sentiment together by adding some gold sequins and a few tiny pearls to complete the card. Oh, and don’t forget that touch of gold dazzling details on the large leaf.

I then stamped a little scene on the inside of the card.
