Hi Stampers, Here is another Thursday blog hop for you to enjoy. Today we had a sketch challenge using Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Crumb Cake. Now of course I wanted to do a Christmas card for you. Have fun and enjoy all the cards our Happy Stampers team created for you.
Here is the sketch:
Stampin Up “Reason for the Season” Christmas card“
I love the Festive Flower punch from Stampin Up. It makes such beautiful poinsettias. Depending on the size of petal you use, you can make small or large flowers. In my card today I used 8 small petals to create the perfect size I needed for the card.
Here is the recipe for the card:
Card base: Crumb Cake 4-1/4 by 11 scored at 5-1/5
Mat: Old Olive 4 x 5-1/4
DSP: Home for Christmas DSP 3-7/8 x 5-1/8
Banner: Crumb Cake 2-1/8 x 5
Flower: Cherry Cobbler inked with Cherry Cobbler
Leaves: Old Olive inked with Old Olive
Center of Flower: Crushed Curry with some gold dazzling details added for sparkle
The banner was cut using the Triple Banner Punch. Can I say this is one of my favorite new punches from Stampin Up. It makes such clean ends when you are making banners. After I punched it out I sponged the edges with crumb cake. I then used versa mark ink and then gold embossing powder to set my sentiment and make is pop.
I added a gold satin bow at the top to finish off the card. The card would not be complete without a few bits of glitz. Some gold sequins, candy dots and pearls were added here and there for the perfect finish.
