Stampin Up “Cozy Christmas” Card

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

May this day find each of you happy and well as you celebrate this wonderful day of blessings.  We are celebrating with our son and daughter- in- law today, what are your plans for turkey day?

It is time for another Happy Stampers bog hop.  Today’s card is a sketch challenge.  I mixed mine up a bit to make my design work. I hope you enjoy my card along with all the other cards our team created today.

The house was colored using the ink to rubber technique.  Using real red and old olive ink pens, I colored the stamp and then inked it to a whisper white circle.  After inking, I ran it through the big shot using the softly falling embossing folder.   ( my favorite embossing folder right now.).  Boy am I glad they are carrying that product over to the Spring catalog. It gives such dimension to the card.  Do you see the glitter coming from the chimney?  The last touch was using a bit of gold dazzling details to mimic smoke.  This gold sparkle also ties in to the other gold elements on the card.  I like to repeat accent colors 3 times for good balance.  A white satin bow and gold sequins finish this part of the card.

The sentiment:

The last circle was for the sentiment.  The sentiment was done using Stampin Up’s Holly Jolly Christmas set.  I picked the word Joy and proceeded to use versa mark and then gold embossing powder to add more gold details.  A snowflake from Stampin Up’s Snowflake Elements topped with a  real red candy dot finish the sentiment.  My cards would not be complete without just one more bit of bling.  I sprinkled some gold sequins here and there on the card.    I hope you enjoyed this card.  Don’t forget to stop by the other team members blogs and see what they created.
