Stampin’ Up! All Squared Away Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

H Stampers, today for our hop we have a color challenge.    Usually when there is a color challenge I look for a beautiful piece of DSP to inspire me in my design.  This week I did not have any DSP to start as my jumping off point so, I had to get creative and just go for it with this group of colors.  We could use at least 3 colors, choosing from Blushing Bride, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Basic  Gray.  I used all but the Basic Gray for my card today.  I also used the adorable All Squared Away Bundle and it made this color challenge so fun  relatively fast too.  I  know I will be using this set again and again. (oh the possibilities!!)

The color challenge:

Stampin’ Up! All Squared Away:

The recipe:

Card base: Real Red 8-1/2 x 7, scored at 3-1/2

Mat: Basic White 8-1/4 x 3-1/4

DSP panel: In Good Taste 8-1/8 x 3-1/8

Sentiment:  Basic White 1/2 x 3-5/8  (Punched with the Banners Pick A Punch)

The details:

  • Stamp each square design from the All Squared Away stamp set onto Basic White card stock as follows:
  • Polka Dot: Blushing Bride, Swirly lines: Bermuda Bay, Dashes: Daffodil Delight, Loops: Real Red

  • Die cut each square floral design from the All Squared Away dies in Basic White card stock
  • Lay each Basic White square die cut onto the stamped square image using liquid glue
  • After the die cuts are dry, using your trimmer, cut around the die cut to make 4 colored squares

More details:

  • Die cut the extra floral pieces from the All Squared Away dies as follows:
  • Pointed flower: Blushing Bride sponged with Blushing Bride
  • Tiny flowers: Bermuda Bay sponged with Bermuda Bay
  • Round flower; Daffodil Delight sponged with Daffodil Delight
  • Tulip: Bermuda Bay sponged with Bermuda Bay
  • Adhere each flower to the corresponding flower from the die cut with a Mini Dimensional

Putting the card together:

  • Adhere your In Good Taste DSP to the Basic White mat
  • Wrap a piece of Red Playful Pets Ribbon around the panel and adhere with a glue dot on each end
  • Attach this panel to the front of the Real Red card front with Dimensionals
  • Attach your 4 square to the card front with Dimensionals

Finishing touches:

  • Stamp the sentiment onto the sentiment piece using the saying from the All Squared Away stamp set in Memento Tuxedo  Black Ink
  • Add the sentiments that you stamped to the left hand side of the card with glue dots
  • Add a Playful Pets red ribbon to the left hand side of the card front and on top of the sentiment
  • Add medium and small Basic Pearls to the center of each flower and you are done
