Stampin Up Star Of Light Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Hi Stampers, another Thursday means another fun blog hop for the team to share with you today.   This week was a sketch challenge.  I made my card using the Candy Cane Christmas set, had it all done and then thought, “oh I could also try Star of Light stamp set too.  And that is exactly what I did.  I will show you the other card next week.

Stampin Up “Star of Light”:

I wish the camera could catch all the depth and shimmer that this card has. It really sparkles but the camera just does not pick up the detail.  You will have to trust me on this one!  Enjoy

Here is the recipe:

Card base:  Basic Black 5-1/2 x 8-1/2. scored at 4-1/4

Mat: Gold Foil, 4 x 5-1/4

Second mat: Basic Black,  3-7/8 5-1/8 x

Panel mat: Gold Foil,  3-5/8 x 1-5/8

Panel art piece:   3-1/2 x 4-1/2  cut into  3-1/2 x 1-1/2 strips

I adhered my gold mat to the card base.

I stamped my art piece before I cut the card into thirds.  I used the Star of Light stamp set and gold embossed the background star spirals and stars.  After it was embossed, I cut it into three pieces and mounted it to the gold foil mats with dimensionals. I then adhered it to the smaller black mat.  Before I attached this to the main card I wrapped a gold satin ribbon around the bottom front of the card. I then attached that whole piece with dimensionals.

The Star:

After the art piece was mounted I took a glue dot and attached some black metallic thread in loops to the card. I added a black star and a die cut gold glimmer paper star together and added that to the front of the card with dimensionals.  A gold satin bow finished the design.  The last detail was the sentiment. I cut Whisper White card stock 1/2  x 3 1/2 and added a Basic Black Merry Christmas sentiment.

The bling:

A card would not be a “Kristi” card without some bling.  Gold sequins and rhinestones finish this off perfectly.
