Stampin Up Jars of Love & Happy Fishes Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Hi Stampers, Here we go with another hop for you today. Today we have a sketch challenge. When I decide what I am going to design, sometimes what seems to be a tough sketch goes together so quickly. Then there are days when the sketch which seem so simple and easy presents me with more design roadblocks. Today was one of those days. In the end, it was a fun card and one that I hope helps you design your own card from our sketch or heck, borrow my idea and CASE this one just the way it is. Either way, have fun and make some cards.

Stampin Up “Jars of Love” and “Happy Fishes” card:

I am such a “rebel”  I turned the sketch again.  It seemed to work best for the idea of using the Jars of Love stamp set.

The Jar:  I stamped the medium sized jar onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock with Dapper Denim ink.  The water in “stamped off” twice in Dapper Denim ink to give it a more translucent look of real water. I then used the Everyday Jars Framelits to cut the jar out.

The flowers:  using the little flower from the Jars of Love stamp set I stamped two sets of flowers in “stamped off” Calypso Coral ink.  The centers were then applied with regular strength Calypso Coral ink to give you contrast between the two steps.  Again I used the matching die to cut them out.

The leaves:  Mint Macaroon ink was used to stamp the leaves and then cut with the coordinating die

The fish:  Calypso Coral ink stamped the cute little fish and once again the die cut him out too.

All of these components were attached with glue dots to the front of the card.

Pearls were added for bubbles by the fish and around the cluster of flowers.

The Banner:  I inked the banner in Dapper Denim ink using the Wetlands stamp for the Birthday and the word fishes came from the stamp out of the Jars of Love stamp set.  I added a enamel shape Calypso Coral heart to complete the sentiment.

The Ribbon: Dapper Denim ribbon was used for the loop and tied with a piece of Calypso Coral thick bakers twine.  This was  attached with a glue dot for the finishing details.
