Alternate Monday, Stampin’ Up, Flowers for Every Season and Forever Fern meets Daisy Lane

Hi Stampers, It’s Alternate Monday day.  That means I am sharing a card taken from the blog hop that I participate in each Thursday. I am taking either the sketch or color challenge and making a second card that is close to or similar to the posted card from the hop.  I want to inspire you to get different looks for your card by mixing it up a bit by color and design.  Today I used the same layout, with a twist and changed the colors to give the card an “Alternate” look.

Stampin’ Up! Flowers for Every Season:

The recipe:

Card base: Whisper White  4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2

Panel: Bumble Bee 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 Embossed on the right side with the  Greenery EF

Strips: Flowers for Every Season DSP 1 x 5-1/2 (you need one each of two different papers)

Sentiment: Whisper White  die cut with the largest Stitched Circle Die

Sentiment mat: Misty Moonlight die cut the the Layering Circle die with the scalloped edge

The details:

  • Using the images from the Forever Greenery stamp set, stamp the following:
  • 3-small leaf clusters: Just Jade Ink
  • Die cut the leaf clusters out with the Forever Flourishing Dies
  • Die cut 4 Misty Moonlight small leaves using the Forever Flourishing Dies
  • Stamp the medium daisy (twice) from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set in Bumble Bee Ink
  • Punch the daisy out with the Medium Daisy Punch
  • Glue the two daisy layers together with liquid Glue

The sentiment:

  • Stamp the sentiment using the saying from the Forever Fern Stamp set in Vera Mark Ink
  • Sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder over the image
  • Heat emboss the sentiment with your heat gun
  • Adhere your sentiment to the Midnight Madness  Layering Circle scallop mat

Putting the card together:

  • Adhere your Bumble Bee embossed panel to the front of the card
  • Adhere your two DSP strips to the left hand side of the front of the card
  • Attach your sentiment to the front of the card with Dimensionals
  • Adhere your  medium daisy to the sentiment piece with Dimensioanls
  • Tuck in all the other leaves to make your arrangement using Glue Dots

Finishing touches:

  • Tuck in a few of the gold leaves from the Forever Greenery Laser Specialty paper (I know it the photo the leaves look black, trust me, they are gold and look amazing in real life)
  • Adhere a few Gilded Gold Gems to the sentiment and you are done

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Autumn Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hi Stampers, today we have a sketch challenge and I wanted to use the new Beautiful Autumn stamp set and the coordinating Gilded Autumn DSP.  I love fall and the warm colors that the season brings and this  product suite just made me warm and longing for a fire and a cup of tea.    The colors in the paper and the stamp set and punch made this so easy to put together.  I can’t wait to use more from this suite on future cards.

The sketch:

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Autumn:

The recipe:

Card base: Very Vanilla 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2

Panel: Mint Macaron 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 Embossed on the right side with the Forever Greenery EF

Strips: Gilded Autumn DSP 1 x 5-1/2 (you need one each of two different papers)

Sentiment: Very Vanilla die cut with the Stitched Oval Die

Sentiment mat: Cajun Craze die cut the the Layering Circle die with the scalloped edge

The details:

  • Using the images from the Beautiful Autumn stamp set, stamp the following:
  • 3-maple leaves: outlined in Mint Macaron and stamp the solid image in 2nd generation Mint Macaron
  • 1- maple leaf: outlined in Early Espresso and stamp the solid image in Mint Macaron
  • 3- oak leaves: outlined in Cajun Craze and stamp the solid image in 2nd generation Cajun Craze
  • 2- oak leaves: outlined in Early Espresso and stamp the solid image in Cajun Craze
  • 2 acorns: outlined in Early Espresso, top is Early Espresso the the body of the acorn is 2nd generation Crumb Cake
  • After you ink all the images punch with out using the Autumn Pack Punches

The sentiment:

  • Stamp the sentiment using the saying from the Beautiful Autumn Stamp set in Vera Mark Ink
  • Sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder over the image
  • Heat emboss the sentiment with your heat gun
  • Adhere your sentiment to the Cajun Craze oval scallop mat

Putting the card together:

  • Adhere your Mint Macaron embossed panel to the front of the card
  • Adhere your two DSP strips to the left hand side of the front of the card
  • Attach your sentiment to the front of the card with Dimensionals
  • Adhere your two acorns to the sentiment piece with Dimensioanls
  • Tuck in all the other leaves to make your arrangement using Glue Dot

Finishing touches:

  • Tuck in a few of the gold leaves from the Forever Greenery Laser Specialty paper
  • Add a Very Vanilla bow using the ribbon from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack
  • Adhere a few Gilded Gold Gems to the sentiment and you are done

The recipe:

Card base: Early Espresso 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2

Mat: Gilded Autum Specialty DSP 4 x 5-1/4

Stitched Circle: Very Vanilla (second largest)

Sentiment: Very Vanilla 1/2 x 3-3/8 punched with the Banner Triple Punch

The details:

  • Die cut the leaf wreath with Mossy Meadow card stock using the die from the Wreath Builder Dies
  • Stamp your 5 leaves in Mossy Meadow, Pumpkin Pie and Bumbelbee ink with the leaf image from the Arrange a Wreath stamp set
  • Die cut your stamped leaf images using the dies from the Wreath Builder Dies
  • Die cut 2 large floral in Bumblebee card stock using the dies from the Wreath Builder Dies

The sentiment:

  • Stamp your sentiment from the Many Mates stamp set with Vera Mark Ink
  • Heat emboss the image with Gold Emboss Powder

Putting the card together:

  • Adhere your DSP mat to the Early Espresso card front
  • Attach your Very Vanilla Stitched Shape Circle to the card front with Dimensionals
  • Adhere your Mossy Meadow Wreath to the circle with liquid Glue
  • Adhere your large Bumblebee flowers to the wreath. One with a Dimensional and one with a Glue Dot
  • Arrange the other small leaves around the large flower with Liquid Glue
  • Tuck in some leaves snipped from the Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty Paper
  • Adhere your sentiment across the upper part of the wreath front with glue dots

Final details:

  • Attach a gold bow from the Forever Greenery Trim  Combo Pack to the flower cluster
  • Attach a few Gilded  Gems to the front of the card
  • Add a Gold Glitter Enamel Dot to the cent of each sunflower

Stampin’ Up! Arrange A Wreath Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hi Stampers, today we have a color challenge using the combination of Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy and Purple Posy.  This combo stumped me until I saw that the Playing With Pattern DSP was the perfect jumping off point to start my card design.  This would be a combination I might not have come up with but WOW but a gorgeous set of colors that go so well together.

The color challenge:

Card base: Night of Navy 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2

Mat: Playing With Pattern DSP 4-1/8 x 5-3/8

Stitched Circle: Whisper White (second largest)

Sentiment: 1/2 x 3-3/8 punched with the Banner Triple Punch

The details:

  • Die cut the leaf wreath with Coastal Cabana card stock using the die from the Wreath Builder Dies
  • Stamp your 3 flowers in Night of Navy Ink with the flower image from the Arrange a Wreath stamp set
  • Stamp your double leaf image from the Arrange A Wreath stamp set in Coastal Cabana Ink (some are second generation stamping)
  • Die cut your stamped images using the dies from the Wreath Builder Dies
  • Die cut the large and tiny florals in Purple Posy using the dies from the Wreath Builder Dies

The sentiment:

  • Stamp your sentiment from the Many Mates stamp set with Vera Mark Ink
  • Heat emboss the image with Gold Emboss Powder

Putting the card together:

  • Adhere your DSP mat to the Night of Navy card front
  • Attach your Whisper White Stitched Shape Circle to the card front with Dimensionals

Stampin’ Up! Whale Of A Time card the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hi Stampers, Today for our hop we have a color challenge and we get to use more colors on this one.  Our colors are Pool Party, Pacific Point, Just Jade and a color of our choice.  My color of choice was to add a touch of Granny Apple Green to the mix.  The paper I used fit beautifully with the colors choice in the DSP Whale of a Time.

The color challenge:

The recipe:

Card base: Pacific Point 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2

Inside mat: Whale of a Time DSP 4 x 5-1/4

Front panel: Pacific Point 4-1/4 x 5-1/2

Sentiment: Whisper White 7/8 x 2-1/4 punched with the Banner Triple Punch

The details:

  • Die cut two seaweed pieces from the Smooth Sailing Die Set in Just Jade and Granny Apple Green
  • Die cut a Whisper White circle trim using the Circle Dies that measure 2-3/8 and 2-5/8
  • Fussy cut the turtle out from the Whale of a Time DSP

Putting the card together:

  • Take the smaller of the two circle dies that you used to make your white circle trim and die cut the front of the card base and the Pacific point panel
  • Emboss the Pacific Point 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 front panel  with the Old World EF
  • Attach the embossed panel to the front of the card with Stampin Seal or Liquid Glue
  • Adhere the Whisper White circle trim around the cut circle on the front of the card
  • Adhere the two seaweed pieces to the left of the circle with glue dots
  • Add you turtle to the front of the card with Dimensionals

  • Stamp your sentiment with Tuxedo Memento Black ink using the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set
  • Tuck the sentiment under the turtles legs with glue dots
  • Adhere your inside Whale of a Time DSP panel to the inside of the card

Finishing touches:

  • Add some Whale of a Time Sequins to the front of your card for added sparkle and dimension and you  are done

  • Stamp your sentiment using the image from the Peaceful Moments stamp set with Black Tuxedo Memento Ink

Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hi Stampers, today for our hop we have a sketch challenge.  I still have a few new stamp sets from the new catalog that have not seen any ink, so I have to fix that problem and ink up a new set for our hop.  Prized Peony was anxiously awaiting some ink, and what fun it was to create using all the products.  The whole suite from the Peony Garden is exquisite from the paper to the gems,  I know you will make some beautiful cards using this suite of products.

Stampin’ Up! Alternate Monday Basket of Blooms

Hi Stampers, It’s Alternate Monday day.  That means I am sharing a card taken from the blog hop that I participate in each Thursday. I am taking either the sketch or color challenge and making a second card that is close to or similar to the posted card from the hop.  I want to inspire you to get different looks for your card by mixing it up a bit by color and design.  Today I used the same layout, with a twist and changed the colors to give the card an “Alternate” look.

 Stampin’ Up! Basket of Blooms:

The recipe:

Card base: Whisper White 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4

Mat: 6×6 In-Color DSP in Magenta Madness

Art piece: Whisper White die cut the Stitched Rectangle Die 4-3/4 x 3-3/8

The details:

  • Stamp your flower pot scene using the Basket in Blooms stamp set onto a large piece of Whisper White card stock as follows:
  • Stamp your elongated basket with Tuxedo Black Ink, then stamp on top of the black image with Bumble Bee Ink
  • Make a mask of the elongated basket, cover the basket and ink the flower pot to the left of the basket
  • Remove the mask (the flower pot will look like it is behind the basket
  • Color in the flower pot with Cinnamon Cider Stampin Blends
  • Color your basket with Bumblebee Stampin Blends (I did not make this coloring solid,  colored over the hash marks to give the basket more dimension)
  • Mask off both the flower pot and basket and stamp the leaves using the stamps from Basket of Blooms
  • Color in the leaves using your Just Jade Stampin Blends
  • Stamp your sentiment with Black Ink using the sentiment from Peaceful Moments

  • Die cut your scene out with the Rectangle Stitched Die

More details:

  • On a scrape piece of Whisper White card stock stamp 3 large flowers and 3 small flowers from the Basket in Blooms stamp set (All with Tuxedo Mememto Black Ink)
  • Color in the large flowers with Magenta Madness Stampin Blends and the small flowers with Bumblebee Stampin Blends
  • Stamp three extra single leaves and color those with Just Jade Stampin Blends
  • Punch the large flowers out with the Small Blooms Punch
  • Fussy cut with scissors your small yellow flowers and extra leaves

Putting the card together:

  • Adhere your Magenta Madness DSP to the front of the card
  • Adhere your art piece to the front of the card with Dimensionlas
  • Attach your three large flowers with a glue dot and two with Dimensionals
  • Adhere your small flowers with glue dots
  • Tuck in and adhere your extra leaves to the arrangement with glue dots  (I added the extra leaves where they overhang onto the flower pot so they stand out against the coloring on the flower pot)

Finishing touches:

  • Add a double Linen Thread bow to the left of the flower pot
  • Adhere Bumblebee Enamel Dots to the center of the Magenta Madness flowers
  • Adhere Magenta Madness Enamel Dots to the center of the Bumblebee flowers
  • Add on Enamel dot by the sentiment and you are done

Stampin’ Up! Basket of Blooms Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hi Stampers, today we have a color challenge and we could choose at least three colors from the new in-color palette.  My card today has Magenta Madness, Cinnamon Cider, Bumblebee and Just Jade. (I did sneak in a few more greens to make my greenery more interesting)  Basket of Blooms was my stamp set today and oh man, what a great set.  I have already made a few other cards and they were so fun.  The gardener in me was very happy creating flower pots full of blooms

Art piece: Whisper White die cut rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Dies 3 x 4/3/8

The details:

  • Stamp your flower pot scene onto a larger piece of Whisper White card stock as follows
  • Flower pot:  Tuxedo Memento Black Ink colored with your Cinnamon Cider Stampin Blends
  • Mask off the flower pot and then stamp your leaves in Tuxedo Memento Black in and color in with Just Jade, Granny Apple Greed and Old Olive
  • On a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock stamp three flower with  Tuxedo Memento Black ink and color with in with the Magenta Madness Stampin Blends
  • Stamp six extra single leaves using the stamps from Basket of Blooms stamp set and color them in with your greens assortment of Stampin Blends
  • Punch the three flowers out with the Small Bloom Punch
  • Fussy cut the extra leaves out with your scissors
  • Stamp your sentiment at the bottom of your flower pot using the sentiment from Peaceful Moments with Tuxedo Memento Black Ink

  • When your scene is all stamped die cut the art piece with your Stitched Rectangle Die

Putting the card together:

  • Adhere your DSP to the Magenta Madness mat
  • Wrap a piece of Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon around the panel
  • Adhere this panel to the front of the card with Stampin Seal
  • Adhere your art piece to the front of the card with Dimensionals
  • Adhere your three flowers to make the arrangement in the flower pot with Dimensionals (one flower is sitting to the right of the flower pot)
  • Tuck in the extra leaves to the flowers in the flower pot and at the base near the flower that is outside the pot with glue dots

Finishing touches:

  • Add a Bumblebee Enamel dot to the center of each flower
  • Adhere a Bumblebee Gingham bow to the left of the flower pot, on top of the ribbon that wraps around the card and your are done

Alternate Monday Stampin’ Up! Beautiful World Card

Hi Stampers, It’s Alternate Monday day.  That means I am sharing a card taken from the blog hop that I participate in each Thursday. I am taking either the sketch or color challenge and making a second card that is close to or similar to the posted card from the hop.  I want to inspire you to get different looks for your card by mixing it up a bit by color and design.  Today I used the same layout, with a twist and changed the colors to give the card an “Alternate” look.

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful World:

The recipe:

Card base: Early Espresso 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2

Mat: Basic Black  5-1/2 x 3-3/8

DSP panel: World of Good 5-1/2 x 3-1/4

3 small panels: World or Good DSP die cut with the Rectangle Dies 1-1/2 x 2-7/8

Sentiment: Whisper White 1 x 2-3/4

The details:

  • Stamp the following images from the Beautiful World stamp set as follows:
  • Ink well: Bumblebee
  • Feather: Soft Suede
  • Sentiment: Tuxedo Black Stamped with the Many Mates stamp set
  • Die cuts:
  • Globe stands and Globe Circle: Basic Black
  • Globe: Brass Foil Sheet
  • After you are all done stamping, die cut all the pieces out with the World Map Dies
  • Glue your globe fronts to the globe backs
  • Glue your Globe stands to the base of each globe

Putting the card together:

  • Adhere your DSP panel to the Black mat
  • Attach this to the front of your card with adhesive
  • Adhere your three Bumblebee rectangles  to the front of the card centering them
  • Attach the sentiment to the right hand side of the card front at the bottom of the white panels

  • Adhere your tall globe to the left hand side of your card front
  • Adhere your short globe with Dimensionals on the right side of the tall globe, overlapping them a tad
  • Adhere your ink well with a Dimensional
  • Add your quill with glue dots
  • The finishing touch is a double Forever Greenery Metallic bow adhered to the quill
