Alternate Monday More Painted Poppies Cards

Hi Stampers, It’s Alternate Monday day.  That means I am sharing a card taken from the blog hop that I participate in each Thursday. I am taking either the sketch or color challenge and making a second card that is close to or similar to the posted card from the hop.  I want to inspire you to get different looks for your card by mixing it up a bit by color and design.  Today I used the same layout, with a twist and changed the colors to give the card an “Alternate” look.

Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies in Red:

Card base: Poppy Parade card stock  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4

Panel: Peaceful Poppies DSP 5-1/2 x 3-1/2

Art Piece: Whisper White card stock die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Die  (3rd largest)

Art piece mat: Basic Black card stock 4-1/2 x 3-1/8

The details:

  • Stamp your poppy floral image twice along the bottom edge of your Whisper White art piece with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Color in the floral image with your Poppy Parade Stampin Blends
  • Stamp your sentiment from the Colorful Seasons stamp set onto the front of the art piece on the right hand corner
  • After coloring, emboss the art piece with the Subtle Embossing Folder and mount to the Basic Black Mat
  • Wrap a piece of Poppy Parade Ribbon around the bottom part of the matted art piece

Putting the card together:

  • Adhere your DSP to the front of the card base with snail leaving the Poppy Parade card front popping through on the bottom of the card
  • Mount your matted art piece to the front of the card with Dimensionals

Finishing touches:

  • Add a small Poppy Parade Ribbon to the left hand side of the card (on top of the wrapped ribbon)
  • Adhere a few Rhinestones to the front of the card and you are done.

Kristi absolutely beautiful! I think I’ll use the purple one, with a different sentiment for my mother’s day card. I’m going to make the poppy parade one today for my friend. She will love it. Thanks again.
