Hi Stampers, Happy Thursday and Happy Blog Hop to each of you. Today we had a color challenge and my mind is so geared up in the Christmas spirit I decided to make these unconventional colors work for another Christmas card.
Here is the sketch:
Stampin Up Merry Mice:
I made my card into a Z fold. the left hand side of the card opens into a Z, this adds some fun in opening the card.
Here is the card recipe:
Card Base: Very Vanilla 4-1/4 x 11 scored at 5-1/2 and 2-1/4
Mat: Emerald Envy 2-5/8 x 4-1/4 and a large mat 5-3/8 x 4-1/4
Art Pieces: Very Vanilla 2-3/8 x 3-7/8 and large is 5-1/4 x 4 (emboss the small piece with the cable knit embossing folder)
Ribbon: Emerald Envy Ruched ribbon
Oval Art Piece: Mat is Emerald Envy and the art piece is shimmery white card stock (both cut with the stacking oval dies)
The Mouse: I stamped the image with the Merry Mice stamp in Staz on Black. With my blender pens I colored in the mouse with Emerald Envy, Dapper Denim, Daffodil delight and Real Red inks. After I was done coloring him in I used my smokey slate ink and did some outlining to add shadow and depth to the image. The Stars were added with Dapper Denim using the stamp from the Star of Light stamp set.
The Sentiment: Emerald Envy ink and the coordinating stamp were used to stamp the sentiment. I also added more stars in Dapper Denim.
Everything was adhered with fast fuse adhesive. Can you believe I did not put any bling on my card this time? I think this might be a first! I have to mix things up every one in awhile, LOL
